The yogi who is not lazy and who performs both divine and worldly duties to please both God and man burns out his seeds of karma. By mastery over outer activities, transforming their material nature by divine thoughts, the yogi attains liberation and the permanent destruction of all causes of suffering.
Welcome to the Austin Meditation Group of Self-Realization Fellowship, 1820 Garden St. Austin, Texas 78702. U.S., which serves families and friends in the Austin area through weekly devotional and meditation services and Sunday school. This Group is composed of devoted local members and friends of Self Realization Fellowship (SRF), a world-wide, non-profit religious organization founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1920 to teach scientific techniques of meditation that lead to direct personal experience of God.
Our Meditation center is open to the public for services and special activities. We invite you to attend our services and welcome you to stop by our chapel during scheduled services and events to find out more about the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda and our activities. The meditation techniques taught by the fellowship are available in a series of lessons mailed from the Self-Realization Fellowship international headquarters in Los Angeles, California. These lessons contain techniques of recharging the body, concentration, meditation, and the higher technique of Kriya Yoga, as well as instructions on how to live a balanced material and spiritual life. For more information see the SRF Lessons link under: About SRF.
As an introduction, we suggest reading Paramahansa Yogananda's "Autobiography of a Yogi." Copies of this spiritual classic are available in our chapel library, in bookstores and public libraries, and are available for purchase online.
