Paramahansa Yogananda was sent to America with a divine mission: the spread of Kriya Yoga, that certain technique of meditation whereby one can most speedily overcome the limiting consciousness of the body and ego and commune with God.

Paramahansaji’s mission also included pointing out the fundamental unity between Christ’s teachings in the Bible and the Yoga teachings of Bhagavan Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita.

Passages from the scripture interpretations and other writings of Paramahansa Yogananda are included in the Readings Service.
