SUMMARY:Thursday Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Our Thursday Inspirational Service offers members an opportunity to share in a fellowship of meditation and inspiration at the point in the week’s activities when they may be most in need of it. Paramahansa Yogananda considered Thursday evening an especially favorable time for holding devotional weekly services. \nThe service begins at 7:00 pm with group practice of the energization exercises and concludes at 9:00 pm. There is a chant midway through the service for those who cannot stay for the entire service.

SUMMARY:Saturday Long Meditation
DESCRIPTION:“United minds\,” Paramahansaji said\, “are bigger channels through which God’s power flows in a mightier way to individual souls.”  When devotees meditate together\, they often discover that they are able to make a greater spiritual effort\, which helps them to achieve a deeper state of stillness and to experience God’s presence in a more tangible way. \nWe begin our long meditation with group practice of the energization exercises at 8:00 am. \nThe service begins at 8:30. \nThere are chants at 9:30 am and 10:30 am when people can enter or leave the chapel. \nAt 11:30 we have a 30 minute break when we practice the group energization exercises again and we resume our meditation at 12:00. \nThe meditation concludes at 1:00 \nThe meditation concludes at 1:00

SUMMARY:Sunday Meditation Service
DESCRIPTION:The Meditation Service provides members and students with an opportunity to practice together the methods of concentration and meditation taught in the weekly Self‑Realization Fellowship Lessons. The flame of one match is small and weak; the fire from many matches is large and strong. The united devotion and concentration of many yoga devotees can powerfully increase the meditational depth of each individual.

SUMMARY:Sunday Reading Service
DESCRIPTION:Paramahansa Yogananda was sent to America with a divine mission: the spread of Kriya Yoga\, that certain technique of meditation whereby one can most speedily overcome the limiting consciousness of the body and ego and commune with God. \nParamahansaji’s mission also included pointing out the fundamental unity between Christ’s teachings in the Bible and the Yoga teachings of Bhagavan Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. \nPassages from the scripture interpretations and other writings of Paramahansa Yogananda are included in the Readings Service. The inspirational readings\, together with chanting and meditation\, make up a balanced service that meets the needs of both long‑time SRF members and those who are new to the path. Of the devotional services outlined in this section\, the Readings Service is the one best suited to the general public. \nVol. I\, #40: The Light of Truth Eternal

\nThe meditation concludes at 1:00

\nVol. I\, #44: Ways to Overcome Nervousness
